How MHI collects and protects your personal information, in line with POPIA.
Last updated: October 2026. This policy applies to the MHI Hardware Wholesalers online store, operated by Nkambako Supermarket CC t/a M.H.I Hardware Wholesalers ("MHI", "we").
1. What we collect
- Contact details: name, cell number, email, company name.
- Order details: products, branch, delivery address and order history.
- Quote requests and messages you send us.
- Basic technical data: device type, pages visited and cookies needed for the cart.
2. Payments
Card and EFT payments are processed by PayFast. MHI does not see or store your full card number.
3. Why we use it
- To process, deliver and support your orders and quotes.
- To tell you when an order is ready, by SMS, WhatsApp or email.
- To keep accurate tax and accounting records.
- To send promotions, only if you agree. You can opt out at any time.
4. Sharing
We share information only with service providers who help us run the store (payment, hosting, delivery, messaging), and when the law requires it. We do not sell your information.
5. Storage and security
Information is stored on secure, access-controlled systems. Staff can see only what they need for their branch and role.
6. Your rights
Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) you can ask to see, correct or delete your information, and object to direct marketing. Email nkambako786@yahoo.com. You may also contact the Information Regulator of South Africa.
7. Cookies
We use essential cookies and local storage to remember your branch and cart. No advertising cookies are set without your consent.
8. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
